Cross Culturalism on Long Island: Photo Exhibition Opening Showcases Vibrant Diversity

The opening of our “Cross Culturalism on Long Island” photo exhibition at Nesconset Library on May 10, 2015, was a tremendous success! The theme of the exhibition was “Beautiful Taiwan.” We would like to express our gratitude to the incredibly talented performers and calligraphers who showcased their skills. We were honored to have Legislator Leslie Kennedy and Suffolk Comptroller John M. Kennedy Jr. in attendance. The exhibition will be on display until May 29 and will then move to Commack Library, where we will have a delightful presentation on Indian weddings during the opening program on June 6. We invite you to join us!

Here is the schedule of the opening presentation on May 10, 2015, for the “Beautiful Taiwan” exhibition:
12 pm to 1:30 pm: Set up
1:30 pm: Screening of the “Landscaping of Taiwan” DVD
2 pm: Opening greetings and acknowledgment of VIP guests by Karen Bomzer and Stella
2:05 pm: Guest speakers, including Karen Wong, Director of the Culture Center of TECO in NY, and a representative from the library
2:10 pm: Introduction of Yi-Miao Huang by Karen Bomzer
2:12 pm: Yi-Miao Huang’s presentation on “Beautiful Taiwan”
2:22 pm: Victor Chang’s performances of “捲珠簾” and “一江春水向東流”
2:28 pm: Dr. Ching-Tse Lee’s Chi Calligraphy demonstration
2:38 pm: Judy Yeh and Bingting Chen’s performances of Zither and Dance
2:42 pm: YiXiong Gu’s Zen Brush Painting
2:52 pm: Judy Yeh’s Zither Playing
3 pm: Wrap-up by Karen and announcement of the next event by AACCU
